Dear Parrots magazine,
Understanding
Eb’s column has always fascinated me with his natural outlook when dealing with parrots. I have learnt a great deal from him and in the last issue of Parrots I was further intrigued by his article on ‘How smart is your parrot?’.
I think we have a great deal to learn from our birds, most of which are grossly underestimated in their intelligence and learning capacity. If we better understand, we will enjoy more fruitful relationships with our birds that can only be best for all of us.
I also recall an article in September’s issue on cognitive behaviour, which is also something all owners, whether pet or breeding, should take much more notice of if we are to provide the best care possible.
