Dear Parrots magazine,
Presentation the key
When my pair of Eclectus was housed indoors, all their fruits and vegetables were fed by wedging them between the cage bars. But, when I set them up in a breeding flight outside I couldn’t do this, and they wouldn’t eat the same fresh foods from a dish.
Then I came across an old chip frying basket in the kitchen. I filled it with their usual selection of fresh foods, bent the handle, and hooked it over a branch in the aviary. To my delight, the Eclectus took to this new feeding receptacle straight away, and are now back eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables once again.
