Dear Parrots magazine,
Golden Conures a revelation!
As a keeper and breeder of a mixed collection of parrots (although sadly not Golden Conures), I loved POMPOM’s article on her large family of Golden Conures in the October 2012 issue of Parrots. It was a real revelation to me and gave an amazing insight into the secret world of parrots and the way that perhaps other parrots too, perceive the world around them.
Most parrots live in flocks or family units in the wild, but I had no idea parrots could be quite so complex in their thought process and feelings. Perhaps we should take this strong need, for the right kind of socialisation, into account more when keeping parrots in captivity.
